The Imam's Profile
Sheikh Rashad Ahmad Azami is an
outstanding graduate from Muslim College, University of London. He
completed his MA in Islamic Studies in 1996 while attending a
counselling course at Brunel University, London, which really helps him
in performing his duty as an Imam of Bath Islamic Society. Prior to this
education, he attended the Prophet College in Madinah and completed his
BA in Islamic Studies in 1993. He started working for Bath Islamic
Society as the Imam in 1996 and only later on that he took the
directorhip seat in 2006 in the absence of such post which really needed
to run the Islamic centre properly.
He has some Islamic teaching experience back in India to excel him in teaching children at the IQRA Islamic School at the centre every Saturday. His Arabic language mastery is proven when he translated the sirah Ibnu Kathir in 1999. He also lectured Arabic language in his spare time at the University of Bath. In between 2007 and 2009, he helped manage Al Manar Centre in Cardiff, one of the oldest mosque in Britain, as the Managing Director. His excellent computer skills along with his other skills have helped him successfully manage both Islamic centres.
